Time for a change to this long unused blog
Well it is time to change this blog to a whole different use. When I first started using this I thought I would use it to talk about local restaurants, then I decided to just use it to talk about what is going on in my life. Now I have decided to use it to update friends and family who are interested in my journey to become an ordained methodist pastor. That journey moved another step forward as of Thursday January 26 when I attended new student orientation at Saint Paul School of Theology. Classes start in just over a week and then things will really change. No longer will my unemployed days be spent watching tv, surfing the net and facebook. I will have a lot of reading to do and also a lot of writing. I know this is a short update but I just need to get in the hang of blogging again. Thank you to all my friends and family that have kept my wife and I in your prayers as we move forward. The next big step will be when I become a certified ministry candidate which I hope will happen next month. More to come......

Life will be different
On June 25th about 12:30 a.m. my life has been altered forever. My youngest brother died from a massive heart attack at the age of 39 years old. We all knew it would happen because he was not watching his health very well. But knowing it will happen and actually being prepared for the inevitable are two totally different things. When we got the call I was numb, you really don't expect to outlive your youngest brother but it has happened and now we move forward. I continue with my exercise routine and encourage everyone I can to take care of themselves. I know my baby brother is in a far better place and he now is not shackled to the body he was in. I told his daughters that he is in heaven tormenting our mom and grandma now. I think the two of them can definately keep that brat in line. I love all my brothers but I don't necessarily love what they do sometimes. My brother will definately be missed by all, RIP Shawn.

To love another
You know as I write this I have a friend who is meeting someone he has been chatting with through video and online chat for quite a while and it sparked a thought. The art of romance is never dead. I know my wife tells me that I should teach other men how to romance their spouses. I don't care who you are male or female it is always special when you signficant other sends you flowers or even a plant. It lifts up your spirits and shows you how much they truly love you. It is amazing how just such a simple gesture can make you feel special.

long time no blog
Well I have not been very good about blogging and it shows since i really don't have any followers but I had to share this. Let me preface it by saying Sunny Wylde is a DJ on the station I listen to here in my hometown and she definately has a HUGE heart for animals. So do I that is why when I heard that my favorite football team had picked up Michael Vick I could not believe it. I also believe that everyone deserves a second chance and from what I have seen Vick is trying to make up for his past transgressions towards dogs. Let's hope he stays that way.....ok so I am getting off track here. I wanted to share what she had to say on her blog today soooooo here it is:
A new animal rescue in Wichita.
Posted in: Uncategorized
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a supporter of the Kansas Humane Society. I think that the work they do is so important. And I also know that they can’t do it ALL. We have a huge problem with pet over-population in this country … as well as scumbags who abuse and neglect animals … and the KHS can’t possibly help every animal in crisis. So, I also support any organization that is out there fighting the good fight to help animals.
So, when I saw this e-mail in my inbox, I wanted to share it with you:
Hi Sunny
I was wondering if you could possibly mention our most recent addition to our rescue on your show/blog?
His name is Charlie and he is a 9 week old German shepherd pup that was injured and needs approx $4000 surgery on his spine to enable him to have a chance at a normal life. I have attached a copy of his flyer. We are a relatively new rescue here in Wichita covering all breeds and the occasional cat!
Our website is www.dognbonerescue.com more photos of Charlie and a video can be found on his sponsorship page http://www.dognbone.rescuegroups.com/animals/detail?AnimalID=2263243
Thank you!
Julie Smith

So, if you can help Charlie with adoption or a donation toward his surgery, that would be wonderful.
And if you can’t help Charlie, please help all animals by spreading the word about spaying and neutering … and tougher penalties for the idiots who abuse and neglect animals.
Have an awesome day!
=)
So with that said please go out there and check out this rescue group if you read this blog and thanks for helping any animals in need.

AWWWWWW Hot Tea
Well it has been a while since I blogged about anything but i have to share something that I have become addicted to of late. Loose leaf teas, specifically black tea at the moment. Where I live we have a shop called Zoomdweebies and they blend and package their own loose leaf teas. My favorite is Cinnamon Black Tea but last night I picked up an interesting blend Maple Bacon Black Tea. Hold on yes I know it sounds gross but to be honest it is really pretty good. So now that I have shared this with you let me share the websites: http://www.zoomdweebies.com/ or http://www.52teas.com/. Head on over there and check it out and what is even cooler is they are doing a contest to award one lucky fan a 52 week tea supscription below is the link to that contest and remember to use my user id as zinger526 thanks for helping and hopefully i have now gotten you hooked:

Can I do weekly?
Well I have been totally horrible about posting any kind of blog. Don't know why because I do love to write and I usually have something to say. What I have to say may not mean anything to anyway but at least I am making an attempt to write something. Seems like I spend more time texting my wife than I do really writing. My thinking is that if I can get into a habit of blogging at least once a week maybe that will lead to more substantial thoughts and help develop a better writing schedule. What do you think? As far as I know I don't think there is anyone out there reading what I have to write here anyway but of course I am not going out of my way to broadcast that i am now blogging like some of my other friends like Sean or Jake did. I think the reason behind this is I don't want anyone to expect more out of me and then I let them down. I have several friends that do a podcast and when they first started it was very regular and they some of us hooked on their little podcast about nothing and then the episodes started to get fewer and farther between so those of us that were jonesing for a new episode started complaining which I am sure was not what my friends wanted to hear. Now they have rededicated themselves to the podcast and hopefully we will be back to a regular weekly schedule. If you are interested in hearing about this podcast a little more or want the link send me a message and I can fill you in. That is my attempt to see if I actually have any readers out there without me advertising on the WWW and saying HEY I AM WRITING A BLOG COME CHECK IT OUT.
Well I think Iwill call it good for now and see if i get any responses from today's posting. In the future I think I will get back to what the original intent was and that is talking about customer service in restaurants and what is good and bad in our local. Until next time remember to take your vitamins and watch out for the much publicized HINI flu.

Time to stop procrastinating
Well I have had this blog for some time now and never really done anything with it. Hopefully that will stop and maybe I can think of something creative to say on her once in a while. Right now my life at work has been dealing with preparations for dealing with H1N1 in my home community. My part is dealing with staffing and it can be very frustrating because the supervisors want things to happen right away. Well I and my supervisor are doing our best to accommodate them and expedite things as fast as possible the problem is when you work for any government entity there will always be some red tape to cut through. So I can definitely say I will be very relieved when this crisis runs it's course.
